Two restaurants — Takeshi Sato’s Kappa Sato and Julie Hyde’s Restaurant 20 Victoria — have joined the exclusive list with one star each, joining a star-studded group that includes Sushi Masaki Saito remaining atop the list with two Michelin stars. The 2023 selection was announced last Wednesday at a glittery event hosted in the famous History Toronto music venue on Queen St. E., where fabulous food along with plenty of bubbly were served to the waiting crowds made up of some of the country’s top culinary talent.

Frilu, which retained its one Michelin star, and White Lily Diner, which earned a 2023 Bib Gourmand, were also awarded “the city’s first Michelin green stars in recognition for their leadership in sustainable gastronomy,” officials said at the ceremony.
