Denver won’t get Sugar Factory’s $99 sundaes and $150 burgers after all

Denverites will have to wait on an Instagrammable sugar high from the Sugar Factory, as plans for a restaurant at Lone Tree’s Park Meadows mall appear to have been tabled.

Brookfield Properties, which owns the retail shopping center, is “going in another direction for the space,” spokesperson Ali Phillips told The Denver Post. Neither Phillips nor representatives of Sugar Factory responded to inquiries about why the local location fell through.

In July, we reported Sugar Factory’s plans to open what would have been Colorado’s first location of the Las Vegas-born restaurant known for its over-the-top desserts and celebrity clientele. The city of Lone Tree previously issued Sugar Factory a permit to modify the building at 8441 Park Meadows Center Drive, formerly home to Brio Tuscan Grille.

At the time, Sugar Factory was listed on Park Meadows’ list of stores coming soon.
