The evening slate gets started at the Big East Tournament with Xavier facing off against DePaul.
The Musketeers were hopeful Zach Freemantle would make it back for the postseason, but he didn’t recover from a foot injury quick enough and opted for season ending surgery. Ideally, Freemantle won’t be needed for the Musketeers quarterfinals matchup against DePaul.
The Blue Demons won a thriller against Seton Hall in the first round, but can they keep up in the quarters?

DePaul vs. Xavier prediction and pick
Xavier is the far superior team, but DePaul may be able to ride the momentum of Wednesday’s thrilling victory to a cover on Thursday. The Blue Demons dropped 12 straight games prior to the win in the opening round, including a 14 point loss at Xavier, but the team has been feeling it from the perimeter over the last month.
DePaul has been shooting 41% from beyond the arc and the Musketeers defense continues to leave a ton to be desired, bottom 100 in turnover rate and around the national average in three-point defense.
Xavier’s inability to pressure the DePaul guards should keep Blue Demons offense on schedule and I believe they are in line to keep this within double digits on a neutral court.
