That’s according to the annual Toyota Canada Summer Road Trip Survey, conducted by Ipsos, which found that 91% of Canadians are looking at a “return to normal” from pandemic restrictions, and will reinstate activities they’d put aside such as taking more vacation time, visiting friends and family, and taking international road trips.

The survey found that 77% of Canadians are likely to travel outside of their city or town; 43% will go outside the province; and 24% may take a trip across the border into the U.S. Of those with access to a car – whether they own, lease, borrow or rent it – 31% are willing to drive four to six hours to their destination, and 33% will stay behind the wheel for seven hours or more.
