Destroy Lonely fans are living in a dream come to life thanks to the official release of a long-awaited (and already ubiquitous) track from the Opium signee.

Indeed, following the viral track’s pre-release surfacing on TikTok and SoundCloud, Lonely’s “if looks could kill” has finally received a formal rollout. The song is the title track off Lonely’s upcoming new project, which will technically mark his debut studio album.

Amid fan chatter surrounding leaked versions of the track, Lonely rolled out a two-in-one video for a pair of NS+ (Ultra) cuts. NS+ (Ultra), of course, served as the deluxe-ified version of his 2022 No Stylist project.

“I feel like when I’m talking to people in conversation, they won’t completely understand me,” Lonely said surrounding the initial No Stylist unveiling. “When I make music, I’m able to say exactly what I want to say.”

In an October interview with VMan, Lonely elaborated on that quote and pointed to the boundary-free environment he places himself in as part of his creative process. While his mind tends to fall into a pattern of “stumbling over itself” in conversational environments, Lonely explained, he’s able to hit a true flow state when he’s recording.

“So when I’m in that mode of recording with my headphones on, I got all my thoughts packed up in my brain, and it just spills out,” he said at the time.

This month sees Destroy Lonely back on the road for a run of international dates following an extended U.S. trek spanning from November of last year through this February.
