DHL has filed a lawsuit against Royal Enfield’s manufacturer at the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) over a payment dispute, according to sources briefed on the matter.

DHL has claimed that in the financial year 2020-21 it had raised various sets of invoices for warehousing and third-party logistics services it had provided to Eicher Motors. Invoices totalling around ₹10 crore are unpaid, DHL claimed.

It has sought initiation of insolvency proceedings against the motorcycle manufacturer.

NCLT will hear the case next week.

DHL did not respond to ET’s queries.

“As of now, we have not received any communication from NCLT, and therefore we are not in a position to comment on this matter,” a statement from Eicher Motors said.

The insolvency law classifies creditors such as those providing goods and services to a company as operational creditors.
