Diablo IV Is Coming To Steam; Available Starting 17 October

It’s confirmed: Diablo IV is heading to Valve’s digital distribution platform, Steam, and will officially be available starting this month on 17 October, or 18 October for us in living in the GMT+8 zone. The news was confirmed by the Diablo Developer live stream that took place on YouTube earlier today.

The availability of Diablo IV on Steam will also coincide with the launch of the game’s second seasonal content, known as Season of the Blood. Compared to the first Season of the Malignant, the second season brings a focus on vampires that, as per the developer’s presentation, have awoken due to the conflict between Inarius and Lilith.

Just as it was with the first season of Diablo IV, players will once again be required to start a new character, in order to obtained and earn new loot, skills, and other in-game features and rewards, typically from farming new bosses.

Blizzard’s decision to release Diablo IV on Steam makes it the second title to be released on the platform, the first being Overwatch 2 back in August. However, the game received, and still retains overwhelmingly negative reviews from users on the digital distribution platform.

It wasn’t a smart move, especially since popularity for the PVP shooter had long been on the decline for years. Honestly, it would’ve made more sense for Blizzard to make its latest ARPG one of the first titles available, amongst its planned “selection” of other titles in its playbook.

You can add Diablo IV on your Steam wishlist right now but do note that you will need to sign in to your Battlenet account as well.
