The lawyer for two victims of accused Long Island serial killer Rex Heuermann believes he may have had a female accomplice.

Heuermann, 59, was arrested at his suburban home last week and charged with the murders of three sex workers, although cops suspect the roster of kills could go much higher.

The victims’ remains were found around Gilgo and Oak Beaches.

Now, lawyer John Ray — repping the families of Shannan Gilbert and Jessica Taylor — claims that in three of the slayings, Heuermann had a female accomplice. Driving the theory is a 2010 murdered toddler.

The baby had been swaddled in a blanket near one of the victims. The savage killer would not have done this, Ray insisted.

“It’s that kind of thing that, if you’re such a depraved murderer, you don’t take time to do. That to me seems like an act of a mother,” Ray said, adding, “We also believe that some of the victims could’ve been lured by a woman.”

So far, cops in Suffolk County have been tight-lipped about possible accomplices — male or female.

Prosecutors charged Heuermann with the murders of three sex workers and he’s the top suspect in a fourth slaying. Heuermann allegedly wrapped their bodies in burlap and dumped them near Gilgo Beach between 2009 and 2015.

Heuermann was connected to the slayings via DNA from a pizza box that matched one of the victims.

Along the eastern seaboard, detectives are eyeing unsolved murders with similar MOs.

In Atlantic City, the unsolved strangulation slayings of four sex workers by the so-called Eastbound Strangler could also be the handiwork of the accused Long Island killer.

Heuermann’s home in Massapequa Park is a three-hour drive from the boardwalk in Atlantic City.

Four years before the first victim was discovered near Gilgo Beach, detectives in the gambling mecca were confronted with their own macabre murders.

Sex worker Kim Raffo, 35, was found slain behind the Golden Key Motel on Nov. 20, 2006. Not far from Raffo were the bodies of Barbara V. Breidor, 42; Molly Jean Dilts, 20, and Tracy Ann Roberts, 23.

The bodies were in different stages of decomposition and the victims had been killed at different times. They were barefoot, face down and pointing east. All had been strangled.

“The way he took the women and propped them up in the ditch, the way he posed the women, spaced them out — he is a very sophisticated killer,” criminal profiler John Kelly told the Daily Mail last year.

Kelly’s team determined that the Eastbound Strangler: Was very familiar with Atlantic City, has an organized personality, is rigid and structured in everyday life, reads books on serial killers, and has knowledge of crime scenes and the resultant investigations.

“He has an extreme foot fetish and has a collection of women’s shoes and the shoes of his victims,” Kelly said. “He has not killed every prostitute he has come in contact with. There are prostitutes who know him for the sexual gratification he gets from their feet.”

Kelly added: “He is nonsocial and likes to keep to himself. He is narcissistic (everything revolves around him), and he is also very concerned with making himself look good in all aspects.”

We apologize, but this video has failed to load.

The Atlantic City killer is likely to be “extremely opinionated” but can be “extremely charming.”

Still, Kelly doesn’t believe that the two murder sprees are connected.

Heuermann has pleaded not guilty to the slayings of Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman and Amber Costello.

Cops on Long Island are still trying to link the suspect to the other victims. There are eight females, one male and the toddler.
