Did Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal have secret roka ceremony on Diwali? Report adds to the buzz around wedding rumours

After earlier reports of Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal planning to tie the knot in December, latest reports claim that the stars formally committed to each other in a hush-hush ‘roka’ ceremony held at the residence of Kabir Khan, Kaif’s friend and director from Ek Tha Tiger.

As per several news reports, Kaif and Kaushal had a private special ceremony at the residence of director Kabir Khan. Only close family members were reportedly present at the intimate ceremony. While mother Suzanne Turquoette and sister Isabelle Kaif are reported to have been present from Kaif’s side, Kaushal’s parents Sham and Veena, and brother Sunny attended the roka ceremony.

There is no official confirmation with Katrina Kaif having earlier refuted the media reports regarding an engagement and December wedding. However, an Indian news network quoted a close friend of Vicky-Katrina as saying, “It was a beautiful roka. There were lights and decorations and Katrina looked stunning in her lehenga. Since the Diwali dates were an auspicious muhurat, the families decided to go ahead with the ceremony. Kabir and Mini are almost like family to Katrina and they were the most gracious hosts.”

The new of the couple having a Roka, a traditional pre-marital ceremony in India, adds fuel to fire with buzz around a rumoured plan for a December wedding at an exotic destination in Rajasthan. Vicky Kaushal had spoken out when news recently broke of their engagement and planned December wedding. Talking to a radio host, the ‘Sardar Udham’ actor had said, “To be honest, mere paas woh mental space hi nahi tha (I didn’t have the mental space), because I was right in the middle of a shoot… Funnily enough, what happens is, these rumours start at 9 o’clock in the morning by the media and by 4.30, the media only negates the same rumours and says ‘no, it’s not true’. So, you don’t have to do anything. I had my blinders on, on my work, and I keep focusing on work.”

Kaushal, who was last seen in ‘Sardar Udham’ is set to start working on the biopic on Indian Army Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, ‘Sam Bahadur’. Katrina Kaif who is riding high on opening success of ‘Sooryavanshi’ alongside co-star Akshay Kumar is already working on ‘Tiger 3’.
