A video of Rahul Gandhi is going viral on social media, in the video he can be heard saying that there are women in Uttar Pradesh who can give birth to a child every week and 52 children in a year.
However, Fact Crescendo found that this video is being shared without proper context. A clipped video of Rahul Gandhi was shared claiming that he said women in UP can give birth to 53 children in a year.
Fact Check-
A relevant keyword search led us to a video uploaded on India TV’s YouTube Channel on 14 November 2011. The caption reads, “Stop begging in Maharashtra, change government in UP.” This video is from a rally in Phoolpur in Uttar Pradesh.
At 5:25 minutes timestamp, Rahul Gandhi spoke about the Janani Surakhya scheme under the National Rural Health Mission, in which a pregnant woman gets Rs 1,400 after delivery. He said, “Speaking of the National Rural Health Mission, thousands of crores of rupees was sent by the Central government to the UP government. Janani Surakhya Yojana is a scheme in which a woman gets 1400 rupees after delivering a child in the hospital. We demanded RTI. According to the RTI report, there are such women in UP who can give birth to a child every week. There are such women who are giving birth to 52 children in a year. Every child has the same name. Every week the same woman is getting 1400 rupees. There are thousands of women like this.”

Conclusion:
Fact Crescendo found that a small clip from the original video was shared without complete and proper context. This is a decade old video. In the real video, Rahul Gandhi was talking about the corruption in UP under Janani Surakhya Yojana.
