Did Ranbir Kapoor hint at Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani sequel?

Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji’s directorial venture Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani has garnered immense love and appreciation from fans. The movie is considered to be one of the iconic films. Given the fact, the movie has received so much love, fans wonder if there will be a sequel. Well, going by his recent chat, Ranbir Kapoor dropped a major hint on the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani sequel. Recently, in a virtual chat, on being asked which film of him aka Bunny would want a sequel, except Brahmastra, he said that the film ‘would make a good sequel’.

Talking more about the details, the Shamshera actor further revealed, “Ayan also had a very nice story I remember. Then he went into this Brahmastra journey. But, never say never. He might make it after a couple of years,” he said.

Ranbir said that the story should be set 10 years ahead and how the characters are living in the current life. “I think the story will be 10 years forward where Bunny, Naina, Avi and Aditi, where are in their lives. I think it’ll be quite interesting and nice to explore those characters,” the Brahmastra actor said.

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani was not just a movie but an emotion. From deep life lessons to relationships between friends and family, fans were relating to YJHD on many levels. And Ranbir’s recent statement can leave fans with tears of joy; however, we’ll wait for an official statement on the same.

Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani also starred Kalki Koechlin, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kunal Roy Kapur. Currently, Kapoor is gearing up for another sequel and that is Brahmastra. Part 2: Dev was announced to release in December 2026 whereas the final part will release in December 2027. He is also gearing up for the release of Animal with Rashmika Mandanna.
