Model Sarah Talabi was reportedly spotted kissing Timothée Chalamet at Coachella over the weekend, but it’s not their maybe romance that has people stanning her. It’s her response when asked about the rumours.
Talabi told Page Six in a statement, “We were all just hanging out and vibing with the music. It was the greatest night of my life,” adding that yes, she was the woman spotted next to Chalamet at a party.
She continued, “Everyone is asking me if I was kissing Timothée Chalamet at Coachella, and that is a good question. But a great question would be asking our world leaders why the Earth is now losing 1.2 trillion tons of ice each year due to global warming and why climate crisis reform has been completely ineffective.”
She added, “I encourage you to contact your local representatives and ask them that.”
Obviously, her spot-on response got people talking online. HuffPost’s Cole Delbyck called it “A+ deflection work” on Twitter, adding that her behavior was “absolute queen shit!!” No lies detected, Cole.

Kelsey Weekman of BuzzFeed implied that the response may be the work of PR professionals. But listen, whoever wrote her statement is not wrong. (The sister mentioned in Weekman’s tweet, by the way, is Talabi’s twin, Leah Marie.)

This isn’t the first time Sarah Talabi has been politically outspoken. She and her sister have written a book about intersectional feminism, which comes out next month. The Amazon description reads, “From the twin activists who popularized the term on social media comes a primer on intersectional feminism for the next generation of feminists looking to further a movement that is meaningful, inclusive, and uplifts all women.”
According to Vox, the term “intersectionality” originated with activist Kimberlé Crenshaw and its jump to social media ubiquity happened around 2015. I could not find any sources crediting the Talabi twins with bringing the phrase to social media…but maybe the book explains it?
