Ding Junhui made three centuries in a 4-0 win over Ian Burns to qualify for the final stages of the BetVictor English Open.
Three-time UK Champion Ding has shown signs of his best form recently, and today was another step forward for the Chinese ace as he took just 51 minutes to book his place in the last 64 in Brentwood in December.
Runs of 106, 138 and 134 gave Ding the first three frames. Burns potted his first balls in frame four, but to no avail as Ding’s run of 54 helped him seal the whitewash.
Women’s World Champion Mink Nutcharut made an impressive fight back from 3-0 down to 3-3 against Chen Zifan, only for Chen to take the decider with a break of 81.
Ali Carter top scored with 100 in a 4-1 win over Adam Duffy while Mark King made an 82 in the decider to edge out David Lilley 4-3.
