A COUPLE were forced to beg for Disney World tickets after they made an easy mistake when booking their holiday.

The anonymous couple had travelled all the way to Florida from Switzerland but had failed to make a reservation for their day at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

Since the pandemic, Disney has introduced several new rules about ticketing and entry reservations.

To book park entry, you can do it within the app under park reservations, or on the website.

It is advised that you make those reservations far in advance, ideally when you initially book your holiday.

The couple from Switzerland had failed to make reservations, and instead tried to show up on the day and enter the parks.

After being turned away from the ticket office, the couple crafted a makeshift sign from a cardboard box and appealed to other guests who were driving to the parks.

The sign read: “Looking for a ticket and reservation.”

It’s reported they initially appealed to guests from outside the Magic Kingdom entrance, but were later moved to the parking lot outside of the ticketing centre.

The Disney website advises: “To enter a theme park, you will need a park reservation and valid admission for that park—for each day you’d like to visit.

Universal Orlando has since reached out to the couple to offer them theme park tickets instead, according to local media.

It isn’t the only easy mistake to make when planning a holiday to Disney World.

Rob Maden issued the warning on a Facebook group to other Disney World goers, after being unable to visit the parks for two days of his holiday.

He wrote: “Book your Disney park reservations as soon as you can if you are set on certain days for certain parks especially if you have a dining reservation.

“We have been a week and had no problems with park availability until yesterday when there was NO availability for any park!

“This weekend and next week are very limited as well with only Epcot available for most of next week.”

A Disney expert has revealed the best time of the week to visit the theme parks if you want to avoid the crowds.

They suggest booking a restaurant that’s located within park property for breakfast, meaning you can be inside before the gates open to all guests.
