Disneyland announces details for Disney Festival of Holidays

0

Disneyland Resort’s holiday festivities officially commence on Friday, Nov. 11 and will run through Jan. 8, with odes to Diwali, Christmas, Navidad, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Three Kings’ Day.

For Diwali, the Disneyland Hotel begins the celebration early by serving an Indian chai Archisha tea at The Coffee House. The beverage is available on the menu until Jan. 9. To coincide with the festival of lights, Blue13 Dance Company will perform daily, at 4 and 5 p.m., through Monday, Oct. 24. The contemporary Indian dance ensemble will then join other performers such as Mariachi Divas, Mostly Kosher, Phat Cat Swinger, and The Mistletoes on Friday, Nov. 11 for the kickoff of Disney Festival of Holidays in Disney California Adventure park.

Holiday music and shows

The seasonal entertainment this year at Disney California Adventure park includes “Mickey’s Happy Holidays” character celebration and the salsa, cumbia, merengue and rock Latino! music of Tina and The Sounds of Celebration!

During the day, the Disney ¡Viva Navidad! Street Party returns with The Three Caballeros, 12-foot-tall mojiganga puppets shaped like Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with Mickey Mouse and Minnie dressed in their fiesta finest. At night, “World of Color — Season of Light” will light up Paradise Gardens Park at Disney California Adventure and for guests wearing the new MagicBand+ devices, the nighttime experience will be enhanced with pulsating vibrations and flashing lights in sync with the music.

Festival of Foods Marketplace

Next month the resort will release the complete holiday foodie guide for both parks. However, some items were announced earlier this month. At Disney California Adventure, expect seasonal treats such as the Grizzly Peak peppermint churro drizzled with chocolate and vanilla sauce, then coated with crushed candy canes. At Lamplight Lounge, hot cocoa-dusted donuts will be served with melted peppermint-chocolate dipping sauce and toasted marshmallow crème.

Savory bites include esquites carnitas mac & cheese with salsa macha, puffed rice, freeze-dried corn and cilantro. Smokejumpers Grill will serve traditional potato latkes with smoked brisket and dairy-free horseradish cream. To imbibe, guests of Sonoma Terrace can sip on the Mistletoe Mule cocktail with cranberry juice and sweetened with agave.

The Festive Foods Marketplace, the park’s seasonal smorgasbord of multicultural cuisine, returns with a new concept called Visions of Sugar Plums. The marketplace will offer sweet and savory bites. The Disney Festival of Holidays Sip and Savor Pass, which includes eight redeemable tabs that guests may exchange for tasting-size portions of food and non-alcoholic beverages at the participating kiosks and dining locations, will also be available this year and is valid through Jan. 8.
