Ditch BT and Sky broadband, and you’ll be paid £75

Plusnet is offering Gift Cards with a value of up to £75 to new customers who sign-up for its broadband packages. The BT-owned company offers speeds ranging from 74Mbps (that’s roughly the average UK home broadband speed) up to a maximum of 500Mbps. All of its broadband packages are sold with a 24-month minimum contract term.

The Gift Card takes the form of a pre-paid debit card, which can be spent anywhere the accepts Mastercard. And that’s basically everywhere. You’ll be able to use the money to treat yourself to one of the best Black Friday deals or use the funds to pay your monthly broadband bills.

Full Fibre 74 (74Mbps) customers will receive a £50 Gift Card, Full Fibre 145 (145Mbps) will receive a £60 Gift Card, and those who plump for the Full Fibre 500 (500Mbps) will receive a £75 Gift Card. Once your Plusnet broadband is activated, you’ll receive instructions over email to claim your Gift Card.

Plusnet includes a speed guarantee with all of its broadband plans. This ensure that – worst case scenario: if your internet speed regularly drops below the guaranteed speeds and Plusnet can’t fix the underlying issue within 30 days, you’ll be able to leave your contract immediately without paying any early termination fees. Plusnet customers will also get Plusnet SafeGuard and Plusnet Protect anti-virus solutions – powered by Norton – included at no extra charge.

As part of its Black Friday deals, Plusnet has scrapped the £20 activation fee – saving you even more money!

Plusnet relies on BT-owned Openreach cables to deliver its broadband.

As such, if you’re able to get BT, Sky, TalkTalk, or EE broadband at your address, you’ll be able to take advantage of the best Plusnet deals. Unfortunately, that means those waiting for Openreach to upgrade their local area to speedier, more reliable full-fibre cabling won’t be able to unlock the fastest Full Fibre packages from the brand.

Openreach has pledged to upgrade 25 million premises to full-fibre by December 2026. At the last count, reported in mid-July 2022, Openreach had reached eight million premises.
