Divers to continue search Tuesday morning for missing boater at Shannon Beach in Winchester

WINCHESTER — Massachusetts State Police dive teams spent Monday night searching for a missing boater at Shannon Beach in Winchester. They temporarily suspended their search around 11 p.m., but will resume it on Tuesday morning.

Police said that a man in his 50s was reported missing from his boat in the area of the Medford Boat Club and Shannon Beach at just before 6 p.m.

The beach was crowded for the Fourth of July holiday, but first responders asked everyone to leave once the search began.

They put up caution tape as divers searched the water.
