Doc Rivers has been a fixture on NBA sidelines for the better part of the last two decades. Rivers won a championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008 and has made several playoff appearances with the Clippers, 76ers and Magic.
After the 76ers were eliminated by the Boston Celtics in this year’s NBA playoffs, the front office decided to move on from Rivers.
Without a new team to work for, Rivers says he’s not feeling any pressure to get back into coaching for now.

“I don’t know what I’m gonna do,” Rivers told TMZ. “I’m just gonna enjoy life.”
If Rivers takes a vacation from coaching, it’s a well earned once. He recently helped lead the 76ers to back-to-back 50-win seasons and saw Joel Embiid win his first league MVP award.
IF Rivers isn’t ready to fully retire, he could return to his old job as an analyst. Rivers worked for ABC, calling the 2004 NBA Finals between the Pistons and Lakers along with Al Michaels for the network.
ESPN and ABC could have an opening for Rivers to join the broadcast group with Jeff Van Gundy being let go as a part of the sweeping ESPN layoffs.
For now, Rivers seems to be content with taking a step away from life in the NBA. After a long career as a player, coach and broadcaster, it’s safe to say he’s seen it all.
