It’s been two months since Doc Rivers was fired as head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers and he didn’t get a new job of any sort in the ensuing coaching carousel.
So does the former NBA champion have any plans to coach in the immediate future? The answer – for now at least – appears to be no.
Speaking to TMZ, Rivers seemed uncertain about his NBA future and said that he’s just going to “enjoy life” for the time being.
“I don’t know what I’m gonna do,” Rivers said on video. “I’m just gonna enjoy life.”

Doc Rivers took over as head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers in 2020 after a seven-year run with the Los Angeles Clippers. In three seasons in Philly, Rivers went 154-82 but couldn’t get the Sixers past the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
This would mark the first year since 1998 that an NBA season would start without Rivers at the helm of a team.
Time will tell if Rivers is truly done or if this just a long break before returning to the NBA.
Has Rivers coached his last NBA game?
