Just 1,000 examples of the 2023 Dodge Challenger Shakedown are slated for North America, split between 500 in Destroyer Grey and 500 in Pitch Black. On top of that glossy paint, buyers will find retro-ish black-and-red striping and accents that mirror those seen on the 1971 Challenger Shakedown concept that debuted at the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas.

That black-and-red motif carries through to the inside, too, with red stitching over the console, steering wheel, instrument panel, and the black Alcantara seats. Oh, and did we mention the badging? A “Shakedown” badge on the dash complements red “392” fender callouts nicely.
Shakedown builds on the Challenger R/T Scat Pack’s Plus Group, Technology Group, Navigation, Carbon/Suede and Dynamics Package feature list, and includes a shaker hood scoop. But other than that, yes, it’s just a limited-edition appearance package.

Not quite your jam? Don’t worry, Dodge has another five special-edition muscle cars scheduled for roll-out between now and September 21, with the next one coming August 31. A very-last-of-its-kind seventh model will gets its reveal at the SEMA show at the beginning of November to cap it all off.
And if you still can’t get your hands on any of those, even base 2023-model-year Challengers and Chargers will get a special “Last Call” plaque under the hood, what with this being the end of the nameplates and all. Dodge has also brought back to the order books its popular, classic B5 Blue, Plum Crazy purple, and Sublime green hues this year, as well as the modern Destroyer Grey that half the Shakedowns will wear.
