Jaffer and Vaughan are known for their hilarious Twitter battles where they take on and troll each other. Previously, their battle was related to India and England results, but the banter has arrived in the Indian Premier League.
Wasim Jaffer is the batting coach of IPL team Punjab Kings. And his side lost the match on Thursday against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Chasing 175 runs, PBKS were bundled out for just 150 runs.
PBKS batting has been kind of hot and cold in this IPL 2023 season. Shikhar Dhawan has been the only consistent performer this season, while the likes of Prabhsimran Singh, and Matthew Short have been inconsistent thus far.
And as Punjab slipped to their third defeat of the season, Vaughan took Twitter and took a cheeky dig at Wasim Jaffer.
“The @PunjabKingsIPL batting looks a little fragile … Does anyone know who the batting Coach is @WasimJaffer14,” Vaughan wrote on Twitter mentioning Jaffer.
It was a direct banter at Jaffer, who himself is the batting coach of the Punjab side. Jaffer hasn’t responded to Vaughan’s enquiry but we can expect a reply soon.
