Just like no one ever has to “confess” to getting Botox or injectable fillers or plastic surgery, no one is obligated to announce when they’re wearing a wig. Many celebrities — especially the ones who change up their style on a nearly daily basis — are more than happy to let people know that what you see isn’t what they’ve got growing out of their heads, while others let you wonder. But when a frequent wig wearer like Doja Cat is justifiably excited about how fabulous her own hair is looking, you can understand why she wants to let everyone know her new style is the real deal.
On Thursday, May 5, the rapper’s go-to hairstylist Jared Henderson, best known as JStayReady, shared a reel showing off her “new cut new color,” the latter of which appears to be the trendy “off-black” shade that’s poised to take over this summer. The cut is classic — long layers that reach well past her shoulders, blown out with bombshell volume and topped off with long, brow-surpassing bangs.
“Oh, this isn’t a wig, by the way,” JStayReady says after asking Doja to bend her head forward.
“Not a wig,” she says, smiling. “It’s all mine.”
“It’s all hers, baby,” he says, as they’re clearly having the best time during the styling session.
“All of it! Every drop,” Doja confirms.
JStayReady echoes Doja and adds, “Give us body,” which she definitely is. Look at that movement!
