Need Thin Mints to get you through another long workday of Zoom meetings? Or Tagalongs to fuel your TV binge night?
The Girl Scouts of America understand and take their “do a good deed daily” pledge seriously.
So this year, for the first time, the organization is partnering with DoorDash to offer zero-contact home delivery for their cookie customers.
That service — and a new treat, Adventurefuls — will help launch the NorCal Girl Scout cookie season. Online sales will also continue, and many locations will see the return of cookie booths outside retailers, with social distancing and mask-wearing procedures in place.
“We are very excited to ramp up our e-commerce platforms to the benefit of cookie customers and girls,” Marina Park, CEO of the Girl Scouts of Northern California, said in her season announcement. “Last year, GSNorCal hosted 10,000 girl-led online shops, helping to inspire the next generation of impact entrepreneurs by teaching them modern-day business and online marketing skills.”
This year’s sales season runs from Feb. 1 to March 27, with DoorDash service starting Feb. 14.
Adventurefuls, a brownie-inspired cookie with caramel-flavored cream and a touch of sea salt, will join the lineup that includes Thin Mints, Trefoils, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-Si-Dos, Lemon Ups, Toffee-tastic and Girl Scout S’mores.
All cookies are $6 a box. Proceeds from the sales finance outdoor and camp activities for Girl Scouts, along with other virtual and in-person programs.
