DOUBLE PARKED: Bunnings’ customer etiquette angers tradies

A righteous tradie has taken matters into his own hands to deal out his version of justice.

Pictures of a Bunnings trade entryway blocked by regular customers was posted to the Facebook group Tradie Mayhem.

The post was a hit, quickly gathering hundreds of likes and comments.

It showed a row of cars parked inside the Artarmon Bunnings store in NSW, accompanied by a picture of his ute double parked — effectively blocking everybody in.

“This one’s for every tradie that’s been held up during the week at Bunnings by people that use the trade entry as easy access, taking their sweet time and looking through the nursery,” the tradie said.

“I double parked blocking them all in at Artarmon Bunnings last Sunday listening to the calls over the speaker for the ute to be moved and well, that just made me take my time and let them know that’s how we feel during the week when we’re trying to get work done and are held up by them.

“Big thanks to the builder in the black ute — he saw what I did and just sat in his ute keeping the mayhem boiling along enjoying every minute.”

The post attracted overwhelming support for the tradie’s cause.

“Love this. Brilliant. I’ll remember to do this next week,” said one.

“Not all heroes wear capes! Keep fighting the good fight brave knight!” another added.

“Love it mate, definitely deserves a beer,” one more said.

“If you’re driving a car you aren’t picking up anything worth obstructing tradies, stay in your lane — literally,” another commented.

Despite this, some said the tradie’s nose was out of joint and that the area was not exclusive to them, suggesting store loading bays are for any customers who need to load items that can’t go through a regular checkout.

“Suck it up, princess. It’s not just for tradies,” someone commented.
