After teasing the collaboration just last week, Dover Street Market has shared a closer look at its Made In UK 991 sneaker designed in collaboration with New Balance.
Developed in New Balance’s Cumbria-based factory, the collaborative release marks 40 years of UK manufacturing for the footwear stalwart. To commemorate the occasion, the silhouette has been designed with an expensive list of high-quality materials and premium details, all of which are combined with DSM’s luxury codes.
For the release, the duo have taken on New Balance’s signature grey hue and reinterpreted it in DSM’s minimal aesthetic. Nubuck, mesh and synthetic details feature throughout, while a creamy tan leather graces the toe box, tongue, heel, and parts of the sole unit. Elsewhere, embroidered Dover Street Market branding features across the tongue and heel in the 991’s signature font, while additional 991 branding can be seen across the alternate heel.
Further details include a silver “N” motif on the sneaker’s lateral mid-panel, a DSM-branded sock liner, and a commemorative 40th anniversary stamp. Completing the design is the sole unit, which includes an ABZORB window in both the forefoot and under the heel.
