Drake finally figures out Denver Ball Arena show he already sold tickets to

Rapper and singer Drake has, at last, scheduled a Denver date following his surprise and hastily justified postponement of his Ball Arena concert on his It’s All a Blur arena tour.

Drake and new opener J. Cole — substituted for 21 Savage — will now play Ball Arena on Thursday, Jan. 18, and Friday, Jan. 19. Tickets for the new dates are on sale Wednesday, Nov. 15, as part of a Cash App Card presale, followed by the general on-sale at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17 at drakerelated.com.

Ticket prices for new passes were not immediately available, but previously purchased tickets for the now-rescheduled Sept. 8 show are currently going for $375 to $1,556, according to Ticketmaster’s official resale site.

The dates replace a Sept. 8 concert that Drake and 21 Savage bailed on three days before their Ball Arena stop. In an unprecedented-to-this reporter announcement, they blamed “the distance the road crew has to travel along with the magnitude of the production,” which made it “logistically impossible to bring the full experience of the show to Denver … .”

As The Denver Post has written, one would’ve thought they figured out production details before putting tickets on sale and prompting more than 10,000 people to schedule their lives around it. On the other hand, the new pair of dates replace a single one, allowing more people to potentially see a show that was sold out in 50 other instances last year.

This year the tour has been subtitled Big as the What? and the Denver dates are the first to kick off nearly two dozen more through March 27, ending in Birmingham, Ala., promoter Live Nation said.
