Drivers putting in ‘an extra gallon per week’ since the launch of new E10 fuel

One motorist has even claimed they have needed “an extra gallon per week” at the petrol pumps since the new compound was introduced. Meanwhile, others are reporting a drop in their miles per gallon rate by up to ten percent.

JacksDad added: “MPG 3 percent down on 2017 mini, and also ‘pulling’ power reduced resulting in gear change down that was not needed before.”

BobPage added: “People were told that E10 was good for the environment, but they misunderstood.

“They thought they meant it would reduce emissions.“What was actually meant was that it would increase the running costs of owning a car, thus forcing drivers off the road.”

However, not all motorists said they experienced issues with E10 since its launch.

E10 fuel was introduced in September in a bid to reduce vehicle emissions.

The new petrol is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by around 750,000 tonnes.

This would be the same as removing 350,000 cars from the road in one go.
