Dua Lipa x Versace: All the best looks from the Cannes runway show bursting with 90s nostalgia

If there’s anyone that can overshadow the pretty major film festival happening in Cannes right now, it’s Dua Lipa. Throw in a collaboration with the fashion powerhouse that is Donatella Versace, and there was only one event that could truly claim to be the hottest ticket in town last night.

Debuting their co-designed ‘La Vacanza’ collection on the French Riviera, the runway marked the first time the iconic fashion house has opened up the design process to a collaborator in this way.

Creating the ultimate summer collection – which is currently available to shop having dropped immediately after the show – many of the pieces feature the iconic butterfly and ladybug print featured in Versace’s spring/summer 1995 collection, set against the backdrop of a sherbet colour scheme of pastel pinks, purples and blues punctuated by the super sexy LBDs that are typical of any Versace offering.

Of course, on hand to showcase the collection on the catwalk was a smorgasbord of major models – including the likes of Irina Shayk, Natasha Poly and Precious Lee.

The new age of supermodels was also in attendance, with second-generation A-listers Lila Moss (daughter, of course, of Kate Moss), Iris Law (the daughter of Jude Law and Sadie Frost) and Amelia Gray Hamlin (daughter of Lisa Rinna) taking to the runway on the night.

“Donatella and I bonded over our shared love of this time of year while making this collection,” revealed Dua. “Digging through the archives we discovered we were drawn to a lot of the same references which was such an inspiring and fulfilling process.”

“Dua loves fashion, I love music – we are the perfect duo!” claims Donatella. “We had such a good time designing this collection together. We felt like we were on vacation and that is exactly the spirit we want people to feel when they wear our clothes.”
