Dua Lipa’s New Manicure Looks Like an Otherworldly Christmas Tree

Back so soon, Dua Lipa? The singer recently returned with a golden nail set update on December 14 after a month-long nail check hiatus. Now, a little over a week later, she’s returned with another new set.

Lipa showed off her ethereal-like mani via her Instagram stories on December 22. Unlike the nail art she flashed over a week ago, this manicure has an array of colors: red, green, and silver. The raised circles from her last nail set also made a comeback, evoking visions of craters on the moon (or Christmas ornaments, depending on whether you’re in the holiday spirit or not). Furthermore, the silver base coat plays on the otherworldly theme, eliciting images of star and moondust.

British-based editorial manicurist Ella Vivii was behind the singer’s new nails. Vivii also shared a photo of Lipa’s nails on her Instagram while they were holding a cellphone with a magenta-colored phone case. Per Vivii’s caption, this new manicure is supposed to be delivering all the “Xmas vibes” for the singer, which explains why there are sprinkles of red and green on each of the raised circles. Perhaps this means the silver base was inspired by the look of snow, or the sky on a cloudy, winter day?

In a week where celebrities are seemingly embracing all things pink instead of the reds and greens typically associated with this season, Lipa’s celestial yet still holiday-themed manicure is a rather refreshing breath of fresh air.

The manicure obviously leans on the more abstract side of things as opposed to a literal interpretation of the holidays, but we’re not mad about it one bit. In fact, we’ll be adding Lipa’s manicure to our mood boards, stat.
