Dubai Foundation for Women and Children claims Global Good Governance Award 2022

DUBAI, 23rd August, 2022 (WAM) — The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC) has received the 2022 Global Good Governance Award in the field of women’s empowerment, marking yet another significant milestone in its record of achievements.

The prestigious award is organised annually by the Cambridge IFA in the United Kingdom.

The honour comes at a time when the foundation is making every possible effort to improve the workplace environment, boost staff performance and achieve its strategic goals, which are consistent with the UAE’s strategy for the next 50 years.

Expressing her pride in winning the award, Shaikha Saeed Al Mansouri, Acting Director-General of DFWAC, said, “Receiving this honour is yet another testament to the fact that we are on the right track towards achieving the wise vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, who pays utmost attention to improving social services.”

“Our excellence in empowering women would not have been possible had it not been for the unlimited support of His Highness and that of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF),” she added.

“The foundation is very keen to keep abreast of the latest developments and changes taking place throughout the world, thus we are adopting a future-foresight culture to foresee challenges, seize opportunities, and enhance our readiness. We are moving forward based on proactive and innovative plans and strategies to support, protect, and empower women, and enhance their capabilities so as to achieve family and social stability, and make it possible for them to take part in the UAE’s renaissance and journey towards sustainable development,” she further stated.

Al Mansouri commended the DFWAC team for playing a key role in realising the new milestone, expressing her gratitude to their tireless work that led to the foundation being one of the best and most proactive advocates for women both locally and internationally. She urged them to redouble their efforts to support the UAE’s aspiration of becoming the best country in the world by 2071.

Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, which offers immediate protection and support services for women and children in the UAE, has recently attained a number of remarkable achievements that bolstered its reputation and enabled it to achieve its strategic goals.
