Tripadvisor has shared the world’s most popular destinations for 2022 including Dubai, Cancun, Tenerife, Bali, Phuket – and two UK destinations have also made the cut

Intrepid explorers may want to start planning Dubai holidays, as the UAE city has just been named the world’s most popular destination for 2022 by Tripadvisor.
Basically, the perfect excuse to explore the best things to see and do in Dubai and bask in the glorious sunshine by one of the many hotel pools with amazing views. (Extra bonus – its hot and sunny weather makes it ideal for winter sun holidays ).
The city topped the list of popular hotspots in Tripadvisor’s recent Traveller’s Choice Awards, and the best part is that all of the top three destinations are currently viable holiday options for Brits, with Dubai, London and Cancun being crowned the most coveted destinations.
Where can I go on holiday from the UK right now?
At the time of writing, both Dubai and Mexico are amongst the destinations welcoming Brits for holidays – and Mexico is actually one of two holiday spots with no PCR test or vaccine requirements if you do want to visit.
Meanwhile those looking to stick to staycations for now can still tick off some of the popular hotspots for 2022, as not only did London take second place, but Edinburgh has also made the top 20.
If you are thinking of going abroad but don’t want to venture to long-haul destinations there are some short-haul spots on the list too including Tenerife, Crete, Rome, Barcelona and Paris.

According to Tripdavisor, Brits are itching to once again travel abroad, as much as they did pre-pandemic.
In fact, a recent survey by the brand found that 78% of Brits are likely to travel for leisure this year, up from 72% who had said the same in 2019.
