Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cambridge, will be joining celebrities such as Tom Hardy, Chris Evans and Regé-Jean Page in the CBeebies Bedtime hall of fame. She will be joining the show for a special Children’s Mental Health Week episode.

CBeebies Bedtime Story is a staple to UK television and has been helping small children get ready for bed for many years.

Airing at 6.50pm every night, many celebrities have read stories to children across the nation.

Taking part in Children’s Mental Health Week, which runs from February 7 to February 13, Duchess Kate has chosen to read The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark by Jill Tomlinson.

The 40-year-old member of the Royal Family has chosen this book to fit in with the theme of this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week, which is Growing Together.

Families are sure to be delighted when they hear the news that royalty will be gracing them in their homes when the episode airs on Sunday, February 13, at 6.50pm.

On the exciting development Patricia Hidalgo, Director of BBC Children’s and Education, said: “I couldn’t be more proud to have The Duchess read a CBeebies Bedtime Story as we mark the 20th anniversary of our CBeebies and CBBC channels.”

Friday, February 11 will mark 20 years of CBeebies and CBBC.

Patricia continued: “It’s such a special and relevant tale and perfectly represents this years’ Children’s Mental Health week theme.

“Denmark is a beacon of best practice in its approach to the early years, with a culture which prioritises the best start in life.”

The celebrity casting for CBeebies Bedtime Stories has encouraged many people to tune in for a nightcap.

@EssBeex shared a meme of a woman somersaulting into bed and said: “CBeebies defo knew what they were doing when they got @ollymurs, @JamesMcAovy & Tom Hardy to do the bedtime stories …. me at bedtime now.”

When Bridgerton’s Duke of Hastings, Regé-Jean Page, read on the show, Twitter was alive with happy mothers.

@VBajela said: “Erm these CBeebies bedtime stories not sure if some are really meant for the kids or the mothers really why is Rege-Jean reading like this to kids.”

“I’m trying to explain to my husband why I have recorded 35 Cbeebies bedtime stories, when my children are 19 and 22. (Accidentally set series record when recording the Rege-Jean Page one). Oops,” an over-excited @gsjuptonpark68 shared.

It’s not just the mums who enjoy the show; father @LeeJFisher1 spoke highly of Rees Witherspoon’s episodes: “Reese Witherspoon doing the @CBeebiesHQ Bedtime Story is the bonus all the tired Dads need at the end of a long week @ReeseW #bedtimestory.”

Kate is very busy at the moment with herself, and her husband Prince William rumoured soon to be jetting off to Barbados on royal matters.

The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark will be read by The Duchess of Cambridge at 6.50 pm, Sunday, February 13.
