Duchess of Edinburgh wears baby pink dress for Royal Ascot

Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh arrived at Royal Ascot today alongside several other members of the Royal Family.

For day four of the horse racing event, Sophie chose a beautiful pale pink dress from Suzannah London – one of her favourite brands. The dress is the Fontaine Silk Crepe Paris in pink, but it is also available in blackcurrant. 

The dress is prices at £2,390 and is from the brand’s current collection. 

According to the wesbite description, the dress is a “A beautiful 1940’s inspired softly tailored silk dress, featuring classic lines and elegant proportions”. 

It is made from the brand’s “signature, fluid Italian silk crepe, in a stunning new shade of Paris pink for the summer season”. 

“With its narrow, elongated v-neckline this dress elegantly frames the face while remaining demure enough for every occasion,” it continued. “The gentle A-line skirt skims the hips and falls in soft, fluid folds. 

“This dress has slim 3/4 length sleeves, an invisible centre back zip fastening and the skirt is lined in tonal silk satin.” 

The Duchess’ hat is from Jane Taylor and is the Hersila Wide Brim in pink, priced at £3,200. 

The website description for the hat reads: “Enliven your look with the Hersilia, with it wide brim and eye-catching chevron pleated organza, this structured hat is sure to make a statement. This stunning hat is sure to turn heads be it at the races or any other special occasions.” 

The hat is made to order, and can be made in a variety of colourways. 

Her bag, is a pink clutch, and has never been identified, but royal fashion fans say she wore it in 2018 for Ascot. On her feet were a pair of nude slingbacks with diamonte detail. 

In terms of accessories, Sophie chose her G. Collins and Sons Diamond Set Infinity Pendant – this is not a new peice of jewellery, in fact, Sophie wore it last week for Trooping the Colour. 

The necklace is priced at £4,850 and the website description for the piece reads: “Our infinity knot symbolises eternity, with bold and organic lines creating these unique and exclusive designs within the collection.
