37-year-old Dwight Howard isn’t quite done with the NBA just yet.

In a recent interview with the Sacramento Observer, the 18-year basketball vet revealed that he has plans to return to the National Basketball Association before calling it quits. Angling that he’d like to play for the outlet’s hometown Kings.

“I’m not retired from the NBA just yet,” Howard said. “I would love to help the Sacramento Kings contend for a title. Even though I believe their team is pretty much set. … I like Mike Brown. I think he’s an amazing coach, and what he accomplished this year was very impressive.”

Howard last played stateside for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2021 where he averaged 6.2 points and 5.9 rebounds across 60 games.

When asked what else he liked about the up-and-coming Kings, the eight-time All-Star and three-time Defensive Player of the Year admitted:

“The thing that stood out most this year was the contracts that players signed accepting their roles and actually sticking with it no matter what.”

Adding that he thinks they’ll get better with experience.
