Dwyane Wade is a Miami Heat legend. Arguably the greatest player in franchise history, Wade helped turn the Heat into one of the NBA’s premier organizations.
He led the team to its first NBA title in 2006, and would go on to win two more titles in 2012 and 2013 alongside LeBron James and Chris Bosh.
With the Heat back in the NBA Finals, Wade shared a special moment with the Heat’s current star player Jimmy Butler.

Wade shared a long hug with Butler ahead of Game 3 of the Finals in Miami on Wednesday night. It could be seen as a bit of a passing of the torch from one Heat star to another.
With two trips to the NBA Finals since joining the team in 2019, Butler is establishing his own legacy in Miami. To join the pantheon of Heat greats like Wade and Alonzo Mourning, he’ll need to win the NBA championship he has strived for at every stop during his career.
Butler and the Heat have been a match made in heaven. A player with a great work ethic and indomitable will combined with the organization with perhaps the highest standards in the sport. Butler expects excellence of himself, just as the Heat expect it for all of their players.
Butler has a long way to go if he wants to match what Wade accomplished in Miami, but he appears to be well on his way.
