Eamonn Holmes documents ‘amazing achievement’ after major health woes

Eamonn Holmes showed improvement in his physical ability as he uploaded a video of him doing squats with the help of a physiotherapist.

The GB News host has spoken at length about his health difficulties for the past two years that have seen him need a walking stick when out in public.

Sharing the clip in view of his 796,000 followers on Sunday, Eamonn typed: “This might look easy to you but believe me this was an amazing achievement for me… Thanks to everyone at @neurokinex Gym for helping me to get back on my feet bit by bit.”

Immediately Eamonn was flooded with support from celebrity friends and fans who urged him to “keep going”.

Former EastEnders actor Joe Swash commented: “Well done mate. You’ll be playing in soccer aid next year xxxx.”

Former SAS soldier Ant Middleton remarked: “Yes Eamonn…There is no end to the road, just progression! Do what needs to be done and more.”

Eamonn’s wife, Ruth Langsford added: “That’s the spirit.”

Love Actually star Martine McCutcheon said: “You are looking so much stronger and well – it’s all paying off Eamonn! You are such a trooper. Give gorgeous Ruth a big cuddle from me please.”

On Saturday Eamonn had asked fans to “wish him well” as he documented his weekly struggle to get into better shape.

The presenter has been suffering from chronic pain over the last two years after slipping discs in his back, dislocating his pelvis, and breaking his shoulder.

Posting on Twitter, the GB News presenter told his followers: “Saturdays… I used to love them. They used to mean football.”

He continued: “Now they mean Gym. Heavy rehabilitation scheduled every Saturday in particular to strengthen my legs and back to hopefully get me walking unaided again…”

Eamonn ended the post with: “But I just don’t like it… Wish me well.”

He previously revealed that he had been suffering from disc problems in his back for a year and a half, caused by a dislocated pelvis.

The star had been learning to walk again following surgery for his back in September.

Then, in November, the broadcaster was forced to take a break from his presenting role after he fractured his shoulder.

The injury came not long after he announced that his mother had died.

Eamonn was recovering from a major back operation at home when he fell down the stairs, resulting in a shoulder injury.
