Freddie Slater (played by Bobby Brazier) returned to EastEnders last year desperately seeking some answers about his real father, and his curiosity will once again get the better of him in upcoming scenes which will lead to the youngster’s life being turned “upside down”.
The 18-year-old has no idea his dad is rapist Graham Foster (Alex McSweeney), who assaulted Little Mo (Kacey Ainsworth) shortly after meeting her.
Freddie’s family has tried to shield him from the truth but official BBC spoilers reveal the teenager will set out to look for his real dad again in upcoming episodes.
In scenes yet to air, Freddie helps Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) to arrange a surprise pirate-themed birthday party for Bert and Ernie Moon (Elliot and Cody Briffett) after his original plans are scuppered when Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) reveals Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) is planning to take the twins away.
The party is a roaring success, and after watching Alfie’s fatherly bond with his children, Freddie decides he wants to find his dad.
Freddie demands the truth from Kat about his dad’s identity, but she quickly dismisses him in an attempt to protect him from the truth.
A determined Freddie continues to search for answers, and asks Alfie and Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) to share what they know.
Kat intercepts the conversation and agrees to tell Freddie the truth later that evening, but not wanting to betray Little Mo’s trust, she lies.
Later, Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) overhears a conversation between Kat, Jean Slater (Gillian Wright), and Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) and heads to Freddie to share his dad’s real name.
Freddie beams as he discovers Graham Foster on a car dealership website with a contact number, unaware of the truth relating to his conception.
Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) helps Freddie set up a clandestine meeting with his dad as he pretends to test drive one of his cars.
Overwhelmed at being face to face with his dad, Freddie soon reveals his true identity.
Elsewhere, Kat, Billy and Alfie frantically try to track down Freddie before Bobby reluctantly reveals his location under the pressure of Kat’s interrogation.
Talking about Freddie and how he might cope if he learns the truth, actor Bobby explained: “I think it will turn everything upside down.
“Freddie has never imagined this to be the reality of the situation and it’s the last thing he would ever think would be true.”
On how Freddie will feel to find his dad’s real name, Bobby continued: “I think he feels hopeful, he feels shocked, he thinks ‘oh this is real now’.
“He’s excited, he’s ready, he’s determined and he wants to take the information and go and find his dad.”
What could happen when Freddie learns the terrible truth?
EastEnders continues on Tuesday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
