EastEnders star Lucy Benjamin is reprising her iconic role as Lisa Fowler as she’s back in Walford with a huge secret.
Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) is in for a shock when he discovers Lisa and his daughter Peggy Mitchell have returned to the square.
In scenes which will air later this summer, fans of the BBC soap will soon discover Lisa is struggling financially as she dodges paying the fare for a taxi,
Bumping into Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy), Lisa admits things aren’t easy for them in Portugal and confesses Louise (Tilly Keeper) has gone off the rails.
Although she wants to lay low for a while, news of her arrival gets back to Keanu, who’s keen to go and see his daughter.
However, it’s clear Lisa hasn’t returned for a simple family reunion as she soon starts to demand money, unaware that Keanu is also struggling.
After speaking to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), he’s stumped that Lisa is letting Keanu anywhere near Peggy as they have a tense chat about Louise.
It isn’t long before suspicions start to rise as Phil believes Lisa is hiding something from him.
As he vows to find out her secret, Lisa is rattled and puts more pressure on Keanu for some money.
Although when it becomes clear what Lisa’s real intentions are and why she needs the money so soon, a huge argument erupts between her, Phil and Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace).
As she tries to leave with her granddaughter, Kat tells Phil he should call the police.
Will Phil get the police involved to stop Lisa? And just what secret is she hiding?
Lisa has been a staple character in the show since 2002 but left three years ago when her daughter became convinced that she was responsible for Keanu’s murder.
Speaking about reprising her role, she told Digital Spy: “She’s definitely come back on a mission.
“She knows what she wants to do and nothing is going to stop her.
“Once again, there are things she is keeping secret and things are obviously going wrong in her life. She’s always had lots of issues. Lisa is a very complex character.”
EastEnders continues Mondays-Thursday on BBC One from 7:30pm.
