EastEnders actor Christopher Parker has stepped away from the limelight to pursue a career as a solicitor.

The former soap star – who starred as Spencer Moon almost two decades ago – is reportedly a Senior Consultant at Ignition Law, according to the company’s website.

In the long-running series, Spencer idolised his big brother Alfie – a former con artist turned pub landlord. However, Spencer caused him trouble when he showed up with their nan unannounced in 2002.

He had a failed fling with Kelly Taylor before he ended up getting Vicki Fowler pregnant during a one-night stand. Spencer also slept with Stacey Slater.

In a strange storyline, Spencer was trapped in the remains of a collapsed helter-skelter, then he went off to live in Australia with Vicki and opened a bar in Sydney.

Meanwhile, his real life has been an entirely different story.

In 2014, Chris was rushed to the hospital and ended up taking an extended break from filming.

After three weeks they made the mutual decision that Chris would not return to the role and his last on-screen appearance was in early January 2005.

An EastEnders spokesperson stated: “We’d like to thank Chris for all his hard work over the last two years and wish him the best of luck in the future.”

Following his time away from the camera, he returned to work on CBB as well as an entertainment reporter on This Morning.

He later made the decision to move to Los Angeles while working for the Fox-owned TV Guide Channel.

Chris presented The Hollywood 411 and The Big Movie Show and hosted Dead Famous Live alongside Gail Porter.

That’s where his time in the spotlight came to an end as he made a surprise career move and turned to law.
