Easyjet plane forced to make emergency landing due to ‘medical incident’

AN Easyjet plane was forced to make an emergency landing after an ‘emergency alert’ was issued in the air near Manchester.

The aircraft was flying from London Stansted to Edinburgh on Sunday when the incident unfolded.

It departed around 5.20pm but was forced to divert to Liverpool John Lennon while it was flying over the Peak District.

RadarBox reports that an emergency alert was issued before the aircraft was forced to divert to Liverpool.

The flight’s live checker said that it was organising a second follow-on flight for passengers impacted by the diversion to reach Edinburgh.

It reports the diversion was due to a ‘passenger incident’ on board the flight.

The update read: “We’re very sorry that your flight has now been diverted to Liverpool.

“This is due to a passenger incident. The disruption to your flight is outside of our control and is considered to be an extraordinary circumstance.”

A spokesperson for Easyjet, said: “We can confirm that flight EZY312 from London Stansted to Edinburgh this evening diverted to Liverpool due to a passenger onboard requiring urgent medical assistance.

The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is easyJet’s highest priority.”
