A TRAIN operator which runs from Edinburgh to London has been slammed by eagle-eyed commuters over an advertising blunder.
Passengers have been left baffled over an LNER post on Twitter.
The post boasts about “magnificent views” along the route and encourages punters to gaze out the window next time they’re travelling.
It read: “Not to brag but we have some magnificent views on our route!
“From greenery to beautiful beaches, there’s something stunning to see from your seat as you travel 125mph.
“Next time you’re travelling, take a moment to gaze out the window and wonder.”
However, eagle-eyed punters have revealed that the photo in the tweet doesn’t match up to the LNER route.
And claim that the picture it is in fact taken between the Dawlish and Teignmouth line in Devon – where the train operator doesn’t stop.
One person said: “This image is between Dawlish and Teignmouth in Devon, which LNER doesn’t visit, huge fail.”
Another wrote: “Such a shame that view isn’t on any of your routes though…”
A third commented: “Pretty sure that’s between Dawlish and Teignmouth, in Devon. Which LNER don’t serve.
“You think a train company would know where their own trains operate?”
And a fourth said: “Hello and welcome onboard this LNER Azuma to… Llyn-by-the-Sea?”
Replying to punters, LNER said: “NothingBeats is an industry-wide campaign, featuring destinations across the entire rail network.
“So yes, we don’t stop in Devonshire, but the imagery is not train-operator-specific, but instead shows the beauty of views outside your window when travelling by train.”
