“To young Asian creatives right now, I would say don’t be deterred by your parents,” he laughed. “Because I know how a lot of Asian parents are. They want you to be doctors. They want you to be lawyers. But you know, at the end of the day, you got to do what makes you happy, and I feel like, at the end of the day, your parents put that pressure on you because they just want to know that you can financially support yourselves and them as well. So, just prove them wrong. Work hard, and be that person who can do what they love and also support your family.”
