Elliot Yeo is used to hitting pinpoint passes on the football field, but at the weekend he took his accuracy to the golf course with amazing success.
Yeo nailed his first ever hole-in-one while golfing in Busselton, proving he’s just no one-trick sporting pony.
The 28-year-old was successful at the par-3 151m sixth hole, much to his delight, saying he was “lucky” but stoked to “tick off a bucket list item”.
Yeo was sporting an off-season beard as he posed with his ball at the pin, with a video showing just how excited he was to land the shot.
The premiership midfielder is not the only football star showcasing his sporting skills in other arenas this off-season, with Sydney’s Chad Warner scoring a Twenty20 century in local cricket while playing alongside his brother Corey earlier this month.
Yeo, a two-time All-Australian and two-time John Worsfold medallist, is hoping for an injury-free pre-season after playing just 22 games in the past two seasons because of a serious groin injury.
The West Coast star emulated two cross-town rivals’ efforts from 2019, with Fremantle defender Joel Hamling and former Dockers wingman Ed Langdon hitting their first hole in ones on the same day.
Hamling was with a group of teammates at the Glen Iris Golf Course when he aced the par-three, 140m 12th hole.
Langdon was at the Point Walter Golf Course when he managed the feat thanks to an extraordinary tee shot on the par-four, 292m eighth hole.
