It took a few months, but Eli Manning has been vindicated.
In late September, the former Giants quarterback, appearing on the ESPN2 “Manningcast” with his brother Peyton, talked about how Eagles fans are infamous for sticking up double middle fingers. He exhibited the gesture himself to illustrate for the audience what it was like.
Laughs were had, several FCC complaints were levied and we thought the matter was behind us.
But, lo and behold, the Eagles were on TV in most of the country Tuesday night playing the Washington Football Team, and there was a fan shown by FOX cameras giving the double salute.
Manning couldn’t help by pointing it out on Twitter.
“I told you so!” Manning exclaimed.
The arc of the universe bends towards justice.
The next edition of Manningcast will be on Jan. 3, for a Monday Night Football game between the Browns and Steelers. Aaron Rodgers has hinted that he could appear, and attempt to be the first active NFL player to break the vaunted Manningcast curse.
