Ella Henderson credits Lizzo with helping her ’embrace her curves’

Ella Henderson looked sensational as she arrived at the BRIT Awards 2023 in an off-the-shoulder ruched baby blue gown and her hair in long mermaid waves.

While she looked uber confident posing away on the red carpet, the former X Factor star went on to reveal to hosts Michelle Visage and Nella Rose that she actually felt comfortable enough to embrace her curves in her dress thanks to Lizzo.

As she described her upcoming outfit choices during the evening, Ella, who will also perform at the event, gushed: “Wait till you see what I’m wearing. You know me, I’m always a suit girl, but tonight we’ve actually got me in a dress. Then for the stage, I’m in a catsuit for the first time. This is what I mean, Lizzo’s here, and she’s helped me embrace my curves, so the curves are coming out tonight. I’m excited!”

Michelle responded: “They better! What is the point in burying all that?” And yes, we’re going to say it – it’s About Damn Time! Lizzo is a true icon and has helped many women feel confident about themselves by regularly clapping back at body shamers, and we love her for it.

Meanwhile, Ghost singer Ella also admitted that her bag was pretty much empty except for a picture of Lizzo. “I love her so much,” she gushed. And when reminded by Nella that Lizzo would see her performing during the evening, Ella admitted that it was an “exciting” occasion for her. “The last few years, I feel like I’ve worked really hard to get back to this place, so I’m just excited to be here!” 

Ella will be performing the song Crazy What Love Can Do at the BRITs alongside David Guetta and Becky Hill.

Ella’s red carpet takeover didn’t go amiss with fans, with one person commenting: “Ella Henderson – gorge!!! #frockwatch #BRITs #Brits2023,” while another added: “Ella Henderson looks beautiful at the brits red carpet #BRITs ????.”
