Elon Musk preparing £4.5 billion bid to buy Manchester United

0

The
superrich
Elon
Musk,
who
owns
both
Twitter
and
Tesla,
is
reportedly
interested
in
Manchester
United
and
want
to
make
an
investment
in
one
of
the
biggest
football
clubs
in
the
world.

According
to

The
Daily
Mail,

Musk
is
tempted
by
the
prospect
of
buying
the
Red
Devils,
who
can
be
up
for
sale
as
a
section
of
the
Glazer
family
stakeholders
have
made
it
clear
they
want
to
sell
the
club.
The
Glazer
Family
are
in
charge
of
Manchester
United
for
the
past
17
years
and
have
faced
uproar
from
the
majority
of
the
United
fans
for
their
lack
of
investment
over
the
years.

There
is
a
deadline
to
make
a
bid
for
Manchester
United
till
Friday
and
Musk
can
reportedly
make
a
huge
offer
for
the
Premier
League
giants.

Manchester United

Musk
is
among
the
potential
suitors
in
the
fray
as
there
are
a
few
other
names
who
are
interested
in
the
coup
as
well.
Some
Saudi
Arabian
businessmen
are
also
interested
in
the
club,
along
with
Sir
Jim
Ratcliffe,
who
is
a
British
billionaire
and
confirmed
his
interest
in
January.
But
the
51-year-old
Elon
Musk,
who
is
currently
the
second
richest
person
in
the
World,
is
definitely
the
biggest
name
associated
with
a
buy.

How
Elon
Musk
Teased
Manchester
United:

He
excited
the
Manchester
United
fans
for
a
brief
period
in
August
last
year.
During
the
turmoil
at
the
start
of
the
season,
when
United
fans
were
at
severe
odds
with
the
Glazers,
Musk
posted
on
Twitter
saying
he
is
buying
Manchester
United.

“Also,
I’m
buying
Manchester
United
ur
welcome,”

Musk
wrote
on
his
Twitter
account.

His
post
garnered
almost
a
million
likes
on
twitter
and
saw
retweeted
for
more
than
115,000
times.
But
the
businessman
quickly
confirmed
his
post
about
buying
Man
United
was
a
joke.

“No,
this
is
a
long-running
joke
on
Twitter.
I’m
not
buying
any
sports
teams,”

Musk
confirmed.

With
United
fans
put
in
a
frenzy
with
the
fresh
speculations,
it
is
to
see
whether
the
South
African
businessman
makes
any
effort
to
buy
the
Red
Devils.
Their
fans
need
a
change
and
they
will
welcome
anyone
but
the
Glazers.
