Emily in Paris fans, take note: The former matriarch of Savoir just stole the show at Paris Fashion Week. Really, are you even surprised?
Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, who plays the iconic marketing executive Sylvie Grateau in the popular Netflix series, attended the Ami Fall 2022 show wearing a sheer emerald midi dress that fit the actor like a second skin.
The 58-year-old paired the sultry, see-through look with a classic red manicure, a long black coat, silver sandals, and a single statement diamond earring.
Basically, she was the epitome of cool — just like the character she plays on Emily in Paris. Check out the look for yourself:
Just like the character she plays on Emily in Paris, Leroy-Beaulieu is unafraid of aging, which she recently discussed in Glamour US’s Drop the Routine column.
“A world where people cannot age is a dangerous world,” she told West Coast editor Jessica Radloff. “I had a talk with my daughter who’s 30 about this recently. She said, ‘Mom, I don’t want to live in a world where women cannot age.’”
“I think it’s important to really own this aging thing and not make it a problem, not make it something we can’t talk about. There’s no guilt or shame around aging. This is something that happens to everybody, you know?”
She continued, “I understand the insecurity, the pressure that we get, especially in our business. But if somebody doesn’t start saying, ‘This is my age, and this is who I am, my wrinkles are my wrinkles, I own my wrinkles, this is my whole life…’ it’s kind of sad.”
“Aging gracefully is being a kinder person than you were when you were younger, because life kind of polishes you. And having a better understanding of how people feel, who people are, and having more compassion and less competition with everybody else.”
Words to live by.
