This week, Emily Ratajkowski stepped out in New York City in a puffer coat and a pair of skinny jeans that she tucked into her knee-high boots. The footwear in question are a pair of lace-up nubuck leather Timberland boots from a recent collaboration with Veneda Carter (currently retailing for a cool £315 – but still in stock in every size at Net-A-Porter).
You wouldn’t be hard pressed to notice that Ratajkowski’s pavement-ready stiletto looks familiar. They’re reminiscent of a pair that Jennifer Lopez wore in the 2002 music video for “Jenny From the Block.” At one point in the noughties clip, Lopez struts out in a pair of Timberland x Manolo Blahnik heels. Since then, the iconic footwear has ended up on Kim Kardashian, and inspired a full footwear collaboration from Rihanna and Manolo Blahink.
In this case, Ratajkowski’s Timberland x Veneda Carter are right in step with her signature styling choices, which includes wearing her winter boots over her skinny jeans. In other words, call her “Emi from the block.”
