Leave it to Emily Ratajkowski to show us how to be sophisticated and super sexy at the same time. The model, actor, author, and swimwear designer walked the runway at the Tory Burch New York Fashion Week show in the most autumnal of colours: orange and brown.
The maxi skirt and three-quarter-length sleeves are giving Mom Visits Pumpkin Patch in 2003. The twist? Not only is her top sheer, so is her bra.
What are we calling this look? It’s not a going-out top; it’s an already-out top. I love how the outfit covers her with fabric from head to toe, yet is form-fitting and revealing; there are layers but not much material.
It’s the kind of juxtaposition that makes fashion fashion. And to be honest, I was getting really sick of cutouts. If you wanna show skin, maybe try mesh instead!

The rest of the look includes a black belt bag (I think it should be called a waist wallet, but the Tory Burch website doesn’t have a section for that), light shoes, tousled hair and crafty statement earrings.
Burch herself posted a clip from the show to Instagram Reels, writing, “An exploration of form. @emrata in sheer, body-conscious layers at our #ToryBurchSS23 show.” I’m definitely using that next time I accidentally buy an unlined dress. It’s not see-through — it’s a body-conscious exploration of form!
