Travel is a big part of any holiday. Whether embarking on a journey to visit friends and family or using the time away from work to have a much-needed getaway, many of us will find ourselves at the airport this week.
No matter our reasons for travel or where our travels may be taking us, we probably want an excuse to get into the spirit of the season while on that flight. Airlines often try to honor this by offering a little bit of a special nod to the season, and this week, there’s one doing exactly that with enough pizzazz any bunny would be proud.
Just in time for Easter weekend, from April 7-10, Emirates Airline will be offering all passengers in all classes some special holiday-themed treats.
This selection will vary by flight class but includes a warm hot cross bun or carrot cake with a tres leches sauce for economy flyers while First and Business class will be offered chocolate cake with ganache and redcurrants or a strawberry cheesecake with a mini-Easter egg.
That’s not the end of the Easter treats, as the A380 Onboard Lounge will be offering a traditional Easter simnel fruitcake with marzipan, and kids will be greeted to a biscuit shaped like an Easter egg.
These Easter-themed treats begin before even getting on the plane, as the lounges will have options like roasted lamb leg with dates, green olives and pomegranate; asparagus, potato and leek soup; potato gratin; and chocolate chip sour cream cake with berry compote and chantilly cream.
These special Easter menu additions will be available on select routes from April 7 through April 10.
Traveling over the holidays can be pretty stressful, but now the prospect sounds downright tasty — especially those warm cross buns.
